Diablo 2: RESURRECTED: With enough attack pace you can break the game

So simple Diablo 2 (and of course the new edition resurrected) works in the core, fans have always been in the matter to get the maximum out of their heroes. Lets take the topic Attack Speed. At first glance, the situation seems to be clear: your fighter suggests with a certain attack pace and by increased attack speed (English: Increased Attack Speed (IAS)) increases its impact speed.

However, if you look more accurate, you quickly realize: the actual attack speed is influenced by a whole amount of variables: from the weapon that bears you, the class, equipment and buffs, but also of the shape you are in. And depending on which variables are used, the formula also changes with which your actual attack speed must calculate. A high on the Internet, which provides us with calculator for this task.

On the one hand, the frequency is calculated, with which your attacks run out (attacks per second) as well as the number of frames per attack. Diablo 2 runs on a frame per second engine. Say: Each animation in the game is carried out several frames. And only if you have accumulated enough IAS to turn out a complete frame out of the animation, actually increases your attack speed. In Diablo 2, the upper limit for an Assassin with the Weapon Greater Claws was about 9 frames per second, which goes beyond about 2.77 attacks per second.

IAS in Diablo 2 Resurrected

In Diablo 2: Resurrected, however, does not seem to give this upper limit to what all the carpers look like. The D2 veteran and YouTuber llamas shows this very beautifully in this video — its assassin attacks in D2 much slower than in D2R, though it carries the same objects each.

In the video we see that you can bring the attack speed of the Assassin by IAS to 6 or even 5 frames per second, whereby four to five attacks are possible per second. However, following other tests were made, which show how absurd and broken D2R can be from certain IAS values.

It was used for the test a druid in Werewolf-Form (Level 20), which uses a phase blade as a primary weapon and insert the attack anger. This could already be in Diablo 2 very nimble, but now reaches in D2R but now absurd fast attack values — up to 12 (!) Beats per second are in it. How this looks in action can you see here:

But its even crass even! Llamas, thanks to a YouTube comment, could now even present a bear build in combination with an Assassin, which comes to 25 (!!) attacks per second (1 frame per attack). The problem with it: The calculations of the game are no longer behind. But see yourself:

The Assassin twitches wildly in Perform, while the opponents collect zero damage before the prank. The character now beats so quickly that he does not execute his current beat to the end, but leads to the next attack prematurely. In the old graphics engine, the bear is even motionless because the actions are carried out too quickly to be displayed as an animation at all.

While many D2 veterans are quite considering that carvers have earned a buff for recur rated, but thats a bit too far, right? ;) The links marked are affiliate links.
