Intel 'Arc' GPU speeds up to supply laptops in the second half

Intel is developing its own for two years, and the 'ARC' graphic chipset, which has been in the market since the end of March, is expected to speed up the supply of chips for mobile (laptop) in the second half of this year.

Currently, Intel is supplying the highest level of graphics chipset for laptops such as the Arc A730m/770m to major notebook manufacturers. Intel's own game small PC 'Serpent Canyon' will also be put into the market in the second half of this year.

The Arc A380 graphics card for desktop was also limited to the Chinese market on the 15th, and NVIDIA will soon launch a low-end graphics card to the market. NVIDIA launches a low-end graphics chipset for almost three years since the second half of 2019.

■ 'At the end of June', the launch roadmap delayed

Intel announced that it will introduce subsequent products such as Arc 5 and Arc 7, which will be more performance by the end of this month after the launch of Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Book 2 Pro, with Arc A350M at the end of March, by the end of this month.

Intel's

However, the product supply schedule is also opaque at the end of the first half of the year (27th). This is because the blockade of the Chinese government to prevent the spread of the Corona 19 Omicron mutation has affected all areas of production and logistics.

The Arc A380 graphics card, the first product for desktop PCs, appeared in the market on the 16th. Even this is supplied to China's completed PC manufacturer first, and the schedule of other countries is undecided.

■ Arc 7 Series chip for laptops, major manufacturers

However, arc chips for notebooks are relatively smooth compared to desktop PCs. This is because the Arc A730M/A770M graphics chipset is being supplied, especially in China and Taiwan laptop manufacturers.

In fact, Taiwanese manufacturer Clevo posted a game laptop 'X270' teaser video on YouTube last month.

Tom's hardware, a US PC specialist, quoted the data distributed by Intel, saying, When tested in full HD (1920 × 1080 pixel) resolution, the arc A770M chip performs more than 12% higher than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 for laptops. It was revealed.

Intel is also launching the Serpent Canyon NUC, a mini PC with a core i7-12700H processor and an arc A770M graphics chipset. However, specific launch schedules and prices are undecided.

■ NVIDIA, 'GTX 1630' on the 28th of the Arc 3 check

NVIDA will soon launch a low-end graphics card for Intel Arc 3 checks.

An official from the global graphics card domestic subsidiary and distributors who demanded anonymity said, The GeForce GTX 1630 graphics card will be released worldwide on the 28th.

The GeForce GTX 1630 graphics chipset reduces the CUDA cores from 896 to 512 compared to the top product GTX 1650, and the memory capacity is up to 4GB, and the memory bus width is limited to 64 bits. Performance is similar to the Arc A380 or AMD Radeon RX 6400 (4GB).

NVIDIA's recommended price on this graphics card is 1,000 yuan (about 192,000 won), which is a bit cheaper than the recommended Arc A380 graphics card, which was released in the middle of this month.

An official of the graphics card importer explained, The GTX 1630 graphics card is a low-end model, so it is difficult to attract domestic importers and consumers.
